Closing session: For Rosa

“For Rosa” tells the true story of Benjamin and Rosa, the 15-year-old girl who lost her life in the 2021 flood disaster in the Ardennes, during a camp for young people who wanted to change the world. Director Nic Balthazar co-wrote the script with Benjamin Van Bunderen Robberechts, the then 14-year-old boy who jumped in after her but was unable to save her. From that fateful July 15th, his life mission became: Climate Justice for Rosa. Saving what can still be saved. At just 16, he succeeded in having that tragic July 15th declared a memorial day for climate victims across the EU. And his fight is far from over.

Nic Balthazar and Benjamin Van Bunderen Robberechts will close Forward Fest 24 with a positive, creative, yet urgent message, because that is exactly what climate activism needs today.
