Migration is at the top of the political agenda. It is also gaining importance in foreign policy and development cooperation. This shift is not without controversy. To what extent can European interests in reducing migration be reconciled with sustainable cooperation and equitable partnerships? Does self-interest outweigh solidarity? This tension is particularly evident in countries around the Mediterranean, where Europe is heavily investing in border control, seemingly losing sight of human rights.
With experts Amanda Bisong (ECDPM) and Raffaella Greco Tonegutti (Enabel), we will examine the relationship between migration and development. We will look at facts and trends, expose persistent misconceptions, and work together to find sensible policy choices.
This session will be conducted in English.
